Judith E. Brocklesby Ashmore

Judith E. (Brocklesby) Ashmore, lovingly known as Judy, passed away on August 16, 2024 at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that touched the lives of countless students and family members. Born on April 20, 1955, in Wyandot County, Judy was a vibrant soul whose biggest heart knew no bounds. After graduating from Upper Sandusky High School in 1973, Judy pursued her passion for education with fervor, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University. For 32 years, she devoted herself to teaching in the Columbus city schools, where her unwavering dedication and kindness made a profound impact on her students. Judy was renowned for always thinking of ways to assist her students beyond the classroom, embodying the true spirit of an educator who cared deeply about her extended family of learners. She was an accomplished organist playing at the Ohio Theater and family gatherings. Judy is survived by her loving son, Matthew Ashmore of Upper Sandusky, and her daughter, Erin Ashmore of Columbus, and her grandbunnies. Her grandson, Marcus W. Ashmore, brought her immense joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with him. Judy also leaves behind her brothers, Joe (Cindy) Brocklesby, Madisonville, LA and Dallas (Mary) Brocklesby, Upper Sandusky as well as her sister Cheryl (Brad) Bachtell, Upper Sandusky and a step-brother Bob Brocklesby, all of whom carry on her memory with love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Ashmore, sharing 32 years of marriage. father, Charles R. Brocklesby, and her mother, Miriam J. (Horn) Brocklesby. As we gather to celebrate Judy's life, a memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2024, from 4:00PM -6:00PM, followed by a memorial service commencing at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jim Stauffer officiating at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Hub in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351. Each moment spent in her presence was a gift, a sentiment echoed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Judy's infectious spirit, generous nature, and unyielding desire to help others will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. She was a guiding light, a devoted educator, and a cherished family member, whose legacy will continue through the lives she touched.
