B.E. Gene Beaston

B. Gene Beaston age 83 formerly of Upper Sandusky died on Saturday Feb. 13, 2016 at his residence in Frostproof, FL. Gene was adopted by Charles M. Beaston and Helen (Lanker) Beaston. He is survived by one brother James F. Beaston and a sister Mary Lou Diebert. He is survived by his wife Dorothy A. (Armbruster) Beaston. They were married on August 14, 1954. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2014. He loved fishing and reading. He loved and was devoted to his wife of 62 years and his family. Gene is survived by one son, James E. Beaston, Kenton, OH, a daughter Sandra L. Bash, Upper Sandusky, OH and a daughter Laura Beaston, Frostrpoof, FL. He has three grandchildren Steven D. Beaston, Forest, OH; Anne Beaston, Upper Sandusky, OH and Beverly (Beaston) Kirby, Upper Sandusky, OH. He has four great-grandchildren Candice Dickerson, Landen Bailey, Wyatt and Clayton Kirby. He has one great-great grandchild, Brooklyn Grace Yingling. Gene was a life member of The 1st Marine Division Association having served as a Navy Corpsman with the Marines in the Korean War; Wyandot Bass Masters Association, North American Fishing Club, the NRA and a member of Warpole Lodge No. 0176 of Upper Sandusky, OH, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, Scottish Rite,the Masons and Zenobian Shriners. He served as an elder and was elder emeritus and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Frostproof. He worked and retired as general manager of Walton Agri-Service, UpperSandusky, OH. Mr. Beaston was a bank director and bank director emeritus of the Commercial Savings Bank. He was member of the OABA (Ohio Agri-Business Association). He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 138 in Sycamore for many years. He was very much loved and respected and will be missed by his family and his friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thurs. Feb. 18, 2016 in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Buzzy Elder officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am before the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oceola Cemetery, Oceola. Military graveside services will be conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.
