Boyd B.J. Jon Swartz

Boyd "BJ" J. Swartz age 72, of W. Sandusky , Wharton, OH died at his residence at 11:43PM on Friday January 9,2009. He was born December 2, 1936 in Upper Sandusky to the late Vaughn Swartz and Bernadine (Johns) Swartz. In 1956 he married Edith (Skipper)they later divorced, she survives in Fostoria, OH. In 1974 he married Sharron Starner she survives in Wharton. Mr Swartz is also survived by five daughters: Teresa (Ron) Shimburg, Fl., Bev (Bernie) Snyder, Lima, Barbara (Tony) Corfman, Upper Sandusky, Sarah (David) Smith and Carolyn Ferguson both of Fostoria, six sons: Rick (Lisa), Indiana, Bob (Robin) and Shannon (Fran) both of Upper Sandusky, Boyd Jr., Michigan, Brian & Rocky both of Fostoria, 26 grandchildrn and 10 step-grandchildrn and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Clifford, (Helen) and Kenneth (Fran) both of Upper Sandusky, Robert (Deb), Valrico, FL and four sisters, Florence Owens, Rutledge, AL, Marilyn (Tom) Harris and Mabel Grimes both of Marion, Patsy (Robert) Smith , Upper Sandusky. A brother and sister-in-law Frank & Karen Ervin, Bucyrus, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Boyd was preceded in death by a twin brother Cloyd Don, and brothers James, Harrrison "Speed", Harold "Gabby", two sisters Clara Tharp and Wilda Grimes and a granddaughter Tammy Snyder and son-in-law Brian Ferguson. Mr Swartz worked for Rieser Fruit Farm. He then worked for Lite Star Oil Co.,where he drove truck. Mr. Swartz retired from Millington/Worthington Plastics in 1999 where he had worked for 30 years. From 1955-1956 he served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, N.C. in the 86th Chem Co. He was a member of the AMVETS Post #777, where he was a Past Trustee and member of the Color Guard. Boyd was also a member of the Carey V.F.W. Post #3759, the American Legion Post #225, and a past member of Eagles Post #2184. He had also served on the Wharton Village Council. Mr. Swartz was a fan of Ohio State & Cleveland Browns football, he enjoyed dancing and listening to "Good Old Country Music". A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Wharton-Richland Union Cemetery, Wharton, OH. Friends and family may call at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday January 13, 2009 from 3-7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Wyandot Co. Multiple Sclerosis, in care of the Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E.
