Charles E. "Jack" Jones Sr.

Charles Edward “Jack” Jones, Sr. age 81 of Morral died at Marion General Hospital at 9:54 a.m. Thurs. Aug. 26, 2010. He was born Oct. 18, 1928 in Meigs County, OH to the late Aaron C. & Garnet R. (Martin) Jones. He married Delores Jean “Sis” Tackett and she survives in Morral. Along with their children Charles “Chuck” (Julie) Jones Jr., Charlotte, MI, Bob (Paula) Jones , Upper Sandusky, Wendy (Jerry) Butz, LaRue, OH, David “DJ” Jones, Cleveland, SC, Thomas “Tom” (Cindy) Jones, Upper Sandusky, Joe (Sandy) Jones, Sycamore, OH, Ken (Nicki) Jones, Morral, OH, son-in-law David “DA” Akers, LaRue, OH, 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sisters Margaret Shipman, Iola, WI and Ramona “Bay” Davis Albany, OH. He is preceded in death by a daughter Linda Akers and 3 brothers. He and his wife were also foster parents. Mr. Jones was of the Baptist Faith. He was farmer and drove truck. Mr. Jones was a supervisor for the Block Plant and was in middle management at Bauldauf & Slint and also at Tecumseh. He retired in 1994 from Continental Hose as a foreman. After retirement he and his wife became owner/operator of Grandma’s House, home of the famous riddle cake in Travelers Rest, SC. Mr. Jones “Chinese Firer Drill” also drove school bus for Ridgedale after he retired. He was a volunteer fireman and EMS worker for Marion Twp. Firer Dept. #1. Mr. Jones was a life member of the Eagles #337 in Marion. His hobbies were watching football, fishing, bowling, camping, listening to blue grass music, square dancing and clogging. Mr. Jones was a baseball coach for Ridgedale. He was an avid OSU fan and a horseshoe champion in Wilkesville, OH. Mr. Jones was a jack of all trades and always made time for his grandchildren. A Celebration of life service will be held Sunday Aug. 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Nunley officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Sunday Aug. 29, 2010. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles E.
