C. Roy Harbour

Charles “Roy” Harbour, age 93 of Upper Sandusky died at 12:25 p.m. on Thurs. Sept. 8, 2011. He was born Mar. 31, 1918 in Hurricane, W VA to the late Black Burn and Lina May (Forth) Harbour. He married his high school sweetheart Ruth L. Hannum on Dec. 30, 1939 in Greenup, KY and she preceded him in death on Apr. 18, 2001. Mr. Harbour is survived by three sons Ronald (Mary Lou) Harbour, Robert (Susan) Harbour, Richard (Mary Alice) Harbour and a daughter Wilma (James) Savidge, all of Upper Sandusky, grandchildren Jim (Joy) Harbour, Debra Harbour, Kim Harbour, all of Upper Sandusky, Bob Harbour, Blue Hill, ME, Eric (Nan) Savidge, Marysville, Karyn (Matt) Meyer, Ashley, IN, Jenny Weatherbee, Upper Sandusky, Ryan (Amy) Harbour, North Canton, Joe (Andrea) Harbour, Canal Fulton, 2 step grandchildren Phillip (Emily) Nalle, Guatemala and Nicole (Mike) Troiano, Findlay, 10 great grandchildren Emily & Charles Savidge, Jacob & Kendyll Meyer, Austin, Sydney, Casey, Joey & Alice Harbour & Emily Weatherbee, 6 step great grandchildren. Mr. Harbour was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren Kris Harbour, Ricky Harbour & Craig Harbour, a daughter-in-law Betty Harbour, a grandson-in-law David Weatherbee, a brother Donald Harbour and 4 sisters Georgia Wall, Evelyn Oney, Dorothy King and Virgia Meyers. Roy was a graduate of Sycamore High School class of 1939. After graduation he was employed at the Sohio Gas Station. He became a milk carrier for the Chief Dairy of Upper Sandusky. Mr. Harbour then worked for the Sycamore Implement as an International dealer. He was an entrepreneur and went and worked for John Neate Car Dealership where he later became owner. He also was part owner of Harbour Motors. He was a member of the 32nd Mason and was a member of the different bodies of the Masons, Grand Council Royal & Select Masons of Ohio, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, De Molay Commander No. 009 Night Templar, Tiffin, OH, Master Mason, Life Time member in Enterprise Lodge #579, Sycamore, OH, Lodge Council, Chapter Consistory, Valley of Toledo, OH, Zenobia Shriners, Toledo, OH, Tiffin Shrine Club, Tiffin, OH, Past Patron of Eastern Stars Chapter #366. He also was a life member of Mohawk Historical Society, Sycamore, OH. In his younger years he was an artist and enjoyed drawing and hunting. For hobbies he liked fishing, writing letters to the editor and woodworking. Roy also enjoyed traveling to Italy, England, Hawaii and spending time with his wonderful family. A funeral service will be held on Monday Sept. 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will take place on Sunday Sept. 11, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
