Donna M. Thiel

Donna M. Thiel, of Kirby, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 100 years old. Donna was born Aug. 11, 1925 in Kirby, Ohio to Albert and Susan (Frey) Kuntz. On May 4, 1944, she married the love of her life, Earl H. Thiel. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1962. She is survived by her four daughters: Roseann (Robert) Dible of Harpster, Carolyn (Troy) Kear of Forest, Susan Thiel (friend Sharon) of Ada, and Marlene (Jeff) Maag of Clyde. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy. In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her three sons, Earl J. Thiel Jr., David Thiel of Upper Sandusky, and Kenneth "Ace" Thiel of Morral; five sisters, Lillian Kuntz, Luella Rall, Alfrida Schaffert, Mary Jaqueth, and Delores Thiel; and two brothers, Carl and Leroy Kuntz. Donna worked at Seiberling Rubber in Carey, Ohio for 8 years and LiquiBox in Upper Sandusky, Ohio for 27 years. Family was always at the center of Donna's life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially when they gathered around her table. She was always cooking or baking something special for those she loved. Her homemade pies, potato salad, noodles, and Sunday breakfasts became cherished family traditions that will be fondly remembered for generations. Donna also enjoyed spending time outdoors. She took pride in mowing her lawn, caring for her beloved cats, and tackling projects around her home. Her strong work ethic, independent spirit, and generous heart were evident in everything she did. She was a faithful member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and attended services at St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on July 16, 2026. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kirby, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Donna's life and paying their respects during visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on July 15, 2026 at Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Donna requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby, in care of Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351. Donna's legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the meals she lovingly prepared, the example of hard work she set, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.
