Franklin T. Cornish Sr.

Franklin Theadore Cornish Sr. age 76, of Upper Sanduksy died at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital at 11:00 p.m. on Sat. Dec. 26, 2009. He was born on April 1, 1933 in Upper Sandusky to the late Nathan N. Cornish and Esther M. (Thompson) Cornish. He married Anna “Ann” J. Myers in Indiana in 1956 and she survives in Upper Sandusky. Frank is survived by children Michael (Melanie Billock) Cornish, Forest, Roxanne (Robert)Orr, Upper Sandusky, Franklin Jr. “Ted” (Barb) Cornish, Upper Sandusky, Karen (Joe) Lawrence, Forest, Tammy (Dean) Mulvaine, Wharton, 14 grandchildren, Stacy, Shelly, Taylor, Frank III, Jason, Courtney, Kristi, Candy, Stephanie, Simone, Dillon, Cassie, Deena, Michael, numerous great grandchildren, brother Jack Cornish, Mansfield, sister JoAnn Vanbuskirk, Marseilles. He was preceded in death by brother Ben Cornish, sisters Evelyn Wisebaker, Verna Zahn, Rosella Laferty, Pearl Berkheimer and Pauline Freel. He worked for the former Millington Plastics and State Highway Dept. Frank retired as a foreman from the Wyandot County Highway Dept., where he made and put up road signs. Frank was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War He was a life member of the AmVets Post #777. Frank was a former member of the Rod and Gun Club and Pioneer Auto Club. He was an Ohio State Buckeye Fan. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, watching TV especially hunting and cooking shows. He collected cars and toy tractors. Frank loved eating out, playing instant lotto and going to casinos. A funeral service will be held on Wed. Dec. 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Geissinger officiating. Burial will be in the Old Mission Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by local veteran organizations. Visitation will take place on Tues. Dec. 29, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Hospice or the Wyandot County EMS in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
