Gail L. Searfoss

Gail L. Searfoss, of Wharton, OH died at 5:25 p.m. Tues. May 26, 2009 in Fairhaven Health Care Community in Upper Sandusky. She was 87. She was born June 3, 1921 in Hardin Co. to J. Edward & Ruby (Hull) Spearman. Gail married Floyd S. Searfoss on Aug. 4, 1940 and he preceded her in death in Sept. 1986. She is survived by a son Paul (Ruth Ann) Searfoss, Kenton, OH, a daughter Loretta (Keith) Bower, Forest, OH, a daughter-in-law Carol Searfoss, Upper Sandusky, 9 grandchildren David (Lori) Searfoss, Mark (Lanna) Searfoss, John (Wendy) Searfoss, Timothy (Deborah) Bower, Scott (Denee) Bower, Teresa (John ll) Medvec, Cathleen (Dean) Morris, Jerry (Patty) Searfoss, Jim (Samantha) Searfoss, 11 great grandchildren Jonathon, Jacob & Justine Searfoss, Michael & Stephen Bower, Emilee & Bethanee Bower, Johnny lll & Jared Medvec, Austin & Danielle Searfoss, 2 step great grandchildren, Heather & Haley Morris, 2 step great great grandchildren Xavier & Victoria Hattery. She is preceded in death by a son Herman Searfoss, brother Lawrence Spearman and a sister Lela Smith. Gail graduated from Dunkirk High School. She, along with her husband operated a grain & livestock farm. For a short while she worked as a secretary for Frank Reams Chiropractic. Mrs. Searfoss was a member of Wharton Church of God and WCSC ladies group. Gail taught sunday school, bible school and would go into the public schools and educate the children about the bible. She was a 4-H leader for the Wharton Busy Bees. Gail liked to sew, garden and write letters. She also enjoyed making crafts from shells that she had brought back from North Port Charlotte, Florida where she and her husband had spent winters. A funeral services will be held Fri. May 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the CLARK SHIELDS Funeral Home with Joe Searfoss officating. Burial will be in Hueston Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thurs. May 28, 2009 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
