George F. Liles

George F. Liles age 81 of Center Dr., Upper Sandusky, died at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital E.R. at 1:27AM on Sat. Feb. 13, 2010. He was born on Jan. 1, 1929 in Forest, to the late Dickson J. Liles and Elva Edith Fox (Zimmerman) Liles. He married Sarah Rose Hemmerly on April 19, 1950 and she died, April 5, 1992. George is survived by a son Joel (Melanie) Liles, Marion, and a daughter Sue Ellen (Mike) Arnold, Powell, and grandsons Zackery Arnold, Scott & Brian Liles and a brother Dan Liles, Findlay. He is also preceded in death by a sister Pauline Shane and 3 brothers Joe, Ron, & Ted Liles. He was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church. He was a graduate from Forest High School class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Marines, and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He had worked at Wilson Tire and Battery then retired from Westinghouse/AO Smith to become the care giver for his wife. After retirement, George worked at Zimmerman Service Station and Schilling Propane. George was a Life Member of Elks B.P.O.E. 83, a member of the American Legion Post 225, Moose Lodge 1093, Stone Crossing Golf Club, and Forest Alumni Assoc. where he had served on several committees. He enjoyed morning socializing and drinking coffee, playing golf, cards, he was in the Elks bowling league. He was a former Little & Pony League Baseball coach, he enjoyed being a part of his grandchildren’s lives and watching sporting activities, spending holidays with his family and chumming around with his late brother-in-law Boyd Dunn. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday Feb. 17, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating.
