Harry D. Yeater

Harry D. Yeater age 93 of Upper Sandusky ,died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital 9:30AM on Friday Oct. 22, 2010. He was born to the late Grant A. and Edith D. (Alspach) Yeater on Aug. 27, 1917 in Hancock Co., OH. He married Helen M. Long on Nov. 25,1937, celebrating 72 years of marriage and she survives. Harry is also survived by a son Lynn(Joann) Yeater, Upper Sandusky, and a daughter Patricia (Mike) MacKenzie, Venice, Fla. There are four grandchildren, Lori Bardon, Delaware, Lisa Yeater, Columbus, Eric Yeater, Upper Sandusky and Pam Lewis, Columbus and two great grandsons Will & Grant Bardon, a sister Dorothy Hall, Upper Sandsuky. He was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Yeater. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church for 60 years. Harry was a 1936 graduate of McCutchenville High School. He retired in 1982 as a labor machinist for Eaton Corp., Marion, OH , and had been owner operator of Yeater Refrigeration Service, in his life he had worked delivering milk for the Pet Milk Co., and Sheldrick Manufacturing and Freimann’s Beverage & Ice both of Upper Sandusky, and Harry was once a farmer, and raised and showed rabbits. Harry enjoyed hunting and gardening, playing the organ, caravan traveling and camping visiting all 50 states, he went on several cruises and spent 14 winters in Arizona He collected belt buckles and bolero neck ties, and matchbooks. He was a do it yourself fix it man. Harry was a member of the Wyandot Squares Dancing Club, Good Sam Camping Club, Marion, and Wyandot Camping Club. A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs. Oct. 28, 2010 at 11:00AM at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Jarrod Schaaf officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
