Jean Ann McIntyre

Surrounded by loving family, Jean Ann Houser McIntyre, of Warren, Ohio died peacefully at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, after a long and courageous battle to sustain an active life in the face of overwhelming health issues. On Christmas Day, 1925 Jean was born to Thelma Wall and Bernard Forest Houser of Upper Sandusky, Ohio where she was raised and was a member of the Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1943. After graduating from Denison University in 1947 she married the love of her life, Ralph W. McIntyre of Painesville, Ohio on September 6, 1947. Last September Jean and Ralph celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Ralph and Jean’s relationship and marriage have been known to all as a celebration of love, fun and commitment. Jean loved spending time in their mountain home in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Her many community activities memberships at Trumbull Country Club and Chip N Putt, and her work as an American Cancer volunteer. An expert on British history, she loved music, travel and literature. Most of all Jean loved spending time with family and friends. This past December Jean celebrated at the last party, in honor of her 85th birthday at Trumbull Country Club. In attendance was her entire family including devoted husband Ralph and her four children and their families: Ann Vartanian, husband John, and their children Andrew (Drew) and David all of New York City: Charles (Chuck) and his wife Roberta (Bobbie) of Grand Junction, Colorado and their sons and families, Charles (Mac) and his wife Yingpei and their son Charles (Charlie) of Silver Spring, Maryland and Eric of Fort Collins, Colorado and his daughter Aleah: Lynn Coffey and her sons Christopher and Michael and their father John Coffey, all of Denver Colorado: and Jeffrey (Jeff) and his wife Karen, daughter Katharine (Katie) and son Justin all of Hudson, Ohio. Other guests included Jean’s brother Jack Houser of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and the Peter Miller family, life-long friends. With tears in her eyes and a beaming smile on her face, Jean declared that it was the happiest day of her life, we will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 4. 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Trester officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that material contributions be made to either St. Jude’s Hospital or The Salvation Army in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
