J. Evon Ulrich

J. Evon Ulrich, age 92 formerly of Edgewood Dr. Upper Sandusky died at 9:25 p.m. Thurs. Sept. 8, 2011 in the Wyandot Co. Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Mar. 12, 1919 in Mifflin Twp. Wyandot Co. to the late John W. and Alma A. (Altvater) Ulrich. On Sept. 28, 1943 he married Margaret Jean Lowery, she preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 2002. Mr. Ulrich is survived by a son Jack (Liz) Ulrich, Marion and a daughter Madeline (Larry) Webster, Upper Sandusky, 2 grandchildren Christopher and Ryan Webster, a great grandchild Jacob, a step grandchild Dan Hayman. He is preceded in death by a brother Neil A. Ulrich, 2 brothers died in infancy. He attended Maybee One Room School House and was a 1937 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He was a 1937 charter member and the first vice president of FFA. Mr. Ulrich was a veteran of WW II serving Company A 1252 Engineer Combat Batallion. Mr. Ulrich attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the K of C #2050, He was a farm laborer for Ward and Dale Walton Farms for 20 years, Charles McCarthy Farms and Quarries and Donald and Dave Wolfe Farms. He had also worked at Wyandot Tractor. His entire life of farming was with John Deere equipment, he collected John Deere toys and paraphernalia. One of the highlights of his life was the Honor Flight he took on June 25, 2008. Funeral services will be held Sat. Sept. 17, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Father J.R. Hadnagy, O.F.M. Conv. and Pastor Joe Trestor officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery.
