Lawrence Vent

Lawrence G. Vent, age 86 of formerly of CR 61 Upper Sandusky died on Sun. Dec. 2, 2007 at 5:43 PM in Fairhaven North Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky, OH. He was born Jan. 3, 1921 in Wyandot Co. to the the late John B. & Mary Magdalene (Gosche) Vent. He married Lillian C. Kill Jan. 14, 1950 in the St. John's Catholic Church, Landeck, OH and she preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 2004. Surviving are sons Thomas G. Vent, Columbus, OH, James L. (Sheila) Vent, Sunbury, OH, daughter, Joyce M. Vent, Columbus, OH, 2 grandchildren, Colin & Devin Vent. He is preceded in death by sisters Geraldine Vent, Florence Stark, Gertrude Thiel, Irene Vent, brothers, Herman Vent, Francis Vent, Gilbert Vent and Wilfred Vent. Mr. Vent helped on the family farm, then owned and operated his own farm operation, he became a partner in Vent Brothers Construction, then became self employed and retired in 1984. He had worked at GE, Tiffin, OH, Syberline Rubber, Carey, OH, Karg Construction, Upper Sandusky, OH. He was member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and served on the finance maintenace committee for 12 years. He was an United States Army Veteran serving for 3 1/2 years during WW 11, he served 3 years in the Philippine Islands and New Guinea. He was a member of K of C #2050. He supervised and maintained Camp Young Girl Scout Camp, remodeled the rectory and parish center and did the woodwork in the rectory library. He enjoyed woodworking and building new homes, gardening, hunting, listening to music. He enjoyed water and ships, traveling and baby swiss cheese. A mass of Chirstian burial will be held Thurs. Dec. 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wed. Dec. 5, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 3:45 pm Wed. Dec. 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic School, Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church or Wyandot Co. Home Health in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
