Miriam C. Vent

Miriam C. Vent, age 81 of CH 95 Upper Sandusky died at Wyandot Co. Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at 5:30am on Fri. Nov. 12, 2010. She was born July 31, 1929 to the late Jerome G. and Mary Ann (Hunkele) Frey. She married Dale F. Vent on Oct. 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1991. She is survived by her children Michael (Christine) Vent, Randy Vent, Monte (Regina) Vent, Jan (Brad Young) Sleeper, all of Upper Sandusky, Virginia (Jack) Luikart, Andy (Wendy) Vent, both of Forest, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, 3 sisters Agatha Thomas, Carey, Sister Noel RSM, Lima, Rosalie Pahl, Upper Sandusky, 4 brothers Herman (Vivian) Frey, Fred (Carol Sue) Frey, Cyril (Judy) Frey, Norbert (Carol) Frey, all of Upper Sandusky. She is preceded in death by 2 sons Lee & Martin Vent, 5 brothers Gerald, Edwin, Jerome Jr., and Norman & Wilfred who died in infancy. She graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1947. She worked for North Electric, Wilson Grocery, Packer’s, and her family’s hardware store, Frey Hardware. Mrs. Vent was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel, Kirby, OH. She was past treasurer of St. Mary’s Alter Society, and belonged to the CLC Council 86, served on parish council and St. Mary’s School Board, the Pastoral Council Hospitality, Welcoming Committee, helped with the church pictorial and sent get-well and congratulation cards to church members. She was a life member of the POW Chapter of Ohio. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers especially roses, walking, dancing, and playing cards. She will be remembered for her home-made potato salad. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Mon Nov 15, 2010 in St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel, Kirby with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-5:00pm Sun Nov 14, 2010 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with a Catholic Prayer Service at 5pm followed by a CLC Service.
