Patricia Ann Parsell Funeral services for Patricia Ann Parsell, 77, formerly of Forest, OH and more recently of Good Samaritan Orchard, Arlington, OH will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest, OH, the Reverends Ken Grey and Mark Bishop officiating. Interment in Hueston Cemetery, Forest, OH will follow. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, October 3, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Clark Shields Funeral Home. Patricia died peacefully at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Bridge Hospice Center, Findlay, OH surrounded by her family. She was born on February 18, 1931 in Keego Harbor, MI to the late Otto W. and Annabelle A. (Boroff) Flowers. She and Lewis Benjamin Parsell were married on February 20, 1949 in Wapakoneta, OH by the Reverend Ralph Wolford. In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Kay Rose (Greg) Clark, Powell, OH., and Connie Jean (David) Salucci, Arlington, OH.; a son, Anthony Lewis Parsell, Mt. Blanchard, OH; and a brother, Richard Wesley Flowers, Forest, OH. Also surviving are 5 grandsons Bryan (Lisa) and Dana (Roxanne) Parsell; J. Dalyn and B. Jesse (Erin) Rose; and Ryan Salucci. She had 12 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Brown, Julian, Delaney, and AnnaMarie Rose; Levi, Kara, and Kaden Parsell; Madelyn, Andrew, Gabrielle, and Keely Parsell; and Hudson Rose. A granddaughter, DeeAnna Lynn Rose, preceded her in death. Patricia attended Fourtowns Elementary in Union Lake and Washington Jr. High in Pontiac, Michigan from 1936-45. On July 12, 1945 she and her family moved to Wyandot County, Ohio; living with her grandmother, Mrs. Eugene (Emma) Flowers for one year before moving into Hardin County. Patricia was a 1948 Salutatorian of Marseilles High School. By the age of 22 she was a dedicated homemaker and mother of three; she gardened, canned and froze fruits and vegetables; she cooked, baked, cleaned, and sewed clothing for the family. Her love of holiday and family traditions has transcended the generations that follow her. Employment prior to marriage consisted of the North Electric Plants in Kenton and Upper Sandusky and Turner’s Restaurant, Forest, OH. Later she was employed by Avon Products in the early 1960’s, Burke Neville 1962-65, Rudolph’s in Westminster, OH, 1965, Kenton North Electric 1966-68, Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky 1968, Kenton Molded Plastics, and Kenton Essex (United Technologies) 1965-66 and 1969-1990? After the closing of the plant she worked at McBride’s Furniture Store, Forest until 1996. She was a member and/or attended the Roundhead Methodist Church, Holden Fletcher Chapel Church, the Forest Presbyterian Church, the Forest First Baptist Church, and the Heritage Christian Union Church. She enjoyed travels in Colorado, family get-togethers, reading, and watching her grandsons play sports, and listening to her granddaughter play the piano. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that memorials be made to Bridge Hospice Center, Good Samaritan Nursing Home, or the Heritage Christian Union Church.
