Ronald Huffman

Ronald E. Huffman, age 76 CH 182 Upper Sandusy, OH died at approximatley 4:00 p.m. Wed. July 2, 2008 in a farm accident on the family farm. He was born Oct. 28, 1931 in Upper Sandusky, OH to the late Ralph and Grace (Secoy) Huffman. He married Cherie A. Burgderfer on Apr. 12, 1958 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky, OH. He is survived by son a Gary E. Huffman, Upper Sandusky, OH, daughters Sharon (Jim) Schilling, Upper Sandusky, OH and Virginia A. (Ed Barlag) Huffman, Cincinnati, OH, 3 grandchildren Brian, Kate and Kara Schilling and a sister Emily (Richard) Ambrose, Columbus, OH. He was a 1950 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He served in the United States Army. Early in his working life he hauled grain for Walton Grain. Mr. Huffman was a retired grain and livestock farmer, he especially enjoyed baling hay, he hauled and sold hay, straw and grain to the Amish in Holmes Co. He traveled to Florida hauling for people and returning with oranges, grapefruit and mulch. He attended Emanuel United Church of Christ. He was former chairman of Wyandot Co. Republican Party, past member of Wyandot Co. Board of Elections, past member of Wyandot Co. Fair Board, past member of Wyandot Co. Beef Asso. He was member of American Legion Post #225. H e collected antique farm equipment and toys. He enjoyed showing his Huber Steam Engine at many Wyandot Co. fairs and parades. He enjoyed hitching the family ponies for rides around the community. He loved his pet dog JR and teasing his grandchildren in a loving way. He was a proud man who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Funeral services will be held Mon. July 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Stiffler. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sun. July 6, 2008 from 1-6:00 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian Mill Antique Asso., Wyandot Co.
