Ruth E. Kennedy

Ruth E. Kennedy age 89 a life long resident of Marseilles, OH died at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, at 4:45PM on Wednesday Feb. 24, 2010. She was born to the late Samuel Thomas and Maude (Snider) Thomas on Jan. 27, 1921 in Marseilles Twp., Upper Sandusky. She married Keith E. Kennedy on July 30, 1938, Greenup, KY, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1987. She is survived by two sons Tom H. (Delores) Kennedy, John L. (Carol) Kennedy, daughter-in-law Janice E. Kennedy, all of Marseilles, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Margaret A. Thomas, Marseilles. She was preceded in death by a son Max A. Kennedy and three brothers Pearl Denringer, Carl and John Thomas. Mrs. Kennedy was a life long member of the Marseilles Presbyterian Church, where she sang for special occasions. Ruth was a homemaker, and graduated from Marseilles High School in 1938. She then worked and retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital after 30 years as a L.P.N. She was a member of the former Marseilles Rebekah Lodge and then later transferred her membership to the Caledonia Lodge. Ruth Kennedy was conferred the Declaration of Chivalry by the Rebekah’s Grand Lodge. Ruth was very community minded and supported the Marseilles Vol. Fires Dept.; she was the community Notary Public and served as the election central committee member for the Marseilles Twp. Mrs. Kennedy hobbies included flowers, crocheting, knitting, and attending her son’s softball games. She was an avid OSU football & basketball fan. Mrs. Kennedy played the organ, piano, and key board. She enjoyed the companionship of her pet dog, “Rags”. As she aged her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. A Funeral Service for Ruth will be held on Monday March 1, 2010 at 11:00AM at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Curtis officiating, burial will be in the Chandler Cemetery, Marseilles Twp. Family and friends may call at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home from 2-6:00PM on Sunday Feb, 28, 2010.
