Ruth I. Cook

Ruth I. Cook age 97 of N. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2011 at 5:50 a.m. She was born on Nov. 5, 1913 in Upper Sandusky to the late Lewis and Sophia (Zwilling) Beidelschies. She married Lester Cook on Sept. 9, 1939, he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1984 along with a son James Cook in 2010, a granddaughter Tracy Lundy, sisters Helen Moore, Harriet Nachbar and Kathryn Welch. She is survived by a daughter Karon (Jerry) Compston, a granddaughter Tamara Jo Cook, great granddaughters Brandy Jo Lundy and Shyla Lundy, grandson-in-law Lloyd Lundy and a great great granddaughter Rayna Kennedy who was the apple of Ruth’s eye. Mrs. Cook attended the Maybe One Room Schoolhouse and was a homemaker. She attended Heritage Baptist Church. Ruth loved going to horse races and all the county fairs especially the Wyandot Co. Fair which she had attended every year since she was a baby, she was the Senior Queen in 2010. Mrs. Cook enjoyed raising, training and racing trotter & pacer race horses with her family which they raced at the Wyandot Co. Fair for over 50 years. They had raced horses at nearly ever fair in the state of Ohio. She was a wonderful person who was loved by all and will be sadly missed by all. She was a former member of Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge and Women of the Moose. Ruth enjoyed playing euchre and bingo. Her favorite vacation spots were Grand Ole Opry and Renfro Valley listening to country music. Funeral services will be held on Thurs. April 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Ashworth officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wed. April 13, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
