Thomas L. Kronenberger

Thomas L. “Kroney” Kronenberger age 74, of Upper Sandusky died at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus on Sun. Mar. 19, 2017. He was born Feb. 6, 1943 to the late Thomas L. and Genevieve (Metzger) Kronenberger. On Feb. 14, 1989 he married Serena K. Wertz, she survives in Upper Sandusky. He is survived by his children Keli (Joseph) Mitchell, Zanesville, Teresa (David) Garza, NC, Laura (Charles) Eckert, Byhalia, Tina (Brian) Varner, Wooster, Chanda (Brian) Brodman, Upper Sandusky, Timothy (Dorothy) Kronenberger, Orrville, Michaela Kronenberger, New Albany, 22 grandchildren, 2 sisters Carol (Dwight) Leonhardt and Rita (Gerald) Fegley, both of Bucyrus. Mr. Kronenberger was preceded in death by a brother Joel Kronenberger, and a sister Sylvia Kronenberger. He was a 1962 graduate of Bucyrus High School where he was the class president and captain of the football team. He was member of the 1961 Bucyrus High School NOL Track Championship Team. Mr. Kronenberger was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked for Omlors Meat Market, Mutual Insurance Co. both of Bucyrus, and managed Conleys Dept. Store in Bucyrus and Mt. Gilead. He was the administrator of Bucyrus Moose Lodge until moving to Upper Sandusky in 1989 when he purchased Bob & Shirley's Restaurant and it became known as Kroney's. Mr. Kronenberger was a life member of Amvets Post 777, and BPOE 83. Mr. Kronenberger enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, fishing, playing cards and Miller Lite. He enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, Cleveland Indians, Browns & Cavaliers, and he was avid NASCAR fan. A funeral service will be held Thurs. Mar. 23, 2017 at 6:00PM in Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Chaplain Rodney Zehfus and Clarence Coffman officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00-6:00PM before the service.
