Thomas F. Jacobs

Thomas F. Jacobs, age 82 of Wharton died at Bridge Hospice Care Center Thurs Nov 3, 2011. He was born Sept 8, 1929 in Toledo to the late Frank & Mary (Schrein) Jacobs. He married Mildred Bukowski and she died, he then married Florence Jurski and she died, he then married Bonnie L. Long Oct 5, 1991 in St. Peter Catholic Church and she survives. Also surviving are his children Bonnie (Chris) Peer, Cheryl (Jay) Whatmore, MaryAnn Lorton, Tim Jacobs, David Jacobs, step children Debra Temple, Don Long, Gail Lubiatowski, Leslie Lubiatowski, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Joseph (Betty) Jacobs, Edward (Carole) Jacobs, and a sister Mildred Bortell. He was preceded in death by 1 great grandchild, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Mr. Jacobs was a member of Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Parish St. Mary’s Chapel, and he attended Wharton Church of God with his wife. He was a US Navy Sea-Bee from 1948-1958 where he played in the drum bugle core. Mr. Jacobs was a business agent for Plaster Local #7 that later merged with Cement Mason Local #886 from 1991 to retirement in 1993. He taught at plaster apprenticeship school. Mr. Jacobs was member of OPCMIA for over 60 years and was a judge for OPCMIA at Ohio State Fairs, Moose Lodge 1093 of Upper Sandusky, and Men’s Garden Club of Kenton. He loved to travel, play cards especially Euchre, gardening, going out to eat, spending winters in Florida, visiting with family & friends, and dancing with his wife to Polka music. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Mon Nov 7, 2011 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel, Kirby with Rev. Robert Reinhart officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 12:30PM Mon Nov 7, 2011 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Monsignor Charles Singler officiating at 15 E. Manhattan Blvd. Toledo, OH 43608.
