Viola M. Bils

Viola M. Bils, age 88, formerly of rural Upper Sandusky and W. Finley St. Upper Sandusky, died at Fairhaven Health Care Community at 6:35 p.m. on Tues. Feb. 5, 2008.She was born on Oct. 19, 1919 in Glandorf, OH to Henry and Elizabeth (Brickner) Unverferth. They are both deceased. She married Albert J. Bils on Dec. 1, 1945 in Glandorf and he survives in Upper Sandusky. She has three daughters Barbara (Gerry) Flaig, Ashton, Maryland, Kathleen (Ed) Wead, Sycamore, Ohio, Louise (Donald) Frombaugh, Sycamore, Ohio, one son Bernard (Linda) Bils, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, Betsy Flaig, Kyle Bils, Cory Bils ,Evan Bils, Jason Hillyer, Tate Hillyer, Ryan Bils, Matt Frombaugh, Ben Frombaugh, Nick Frombaugh,8 great grandchildren, and one sister Ruth Fox, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by son David E. Bils, grandson Joseph Frombaugh and an infant grandson Paul Hillyer. She was also preceded in death by brothers Leonard and LeroyUnverferth. Mrs. Bils was a member of the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church for 62 years. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Rosary Altar Society. Viola was a homemaker. She was an 4-H Advisor for over 20 years and a Farm Bureau member. She was an former member of the Wyandot County Extension Ladies for 15 years. Mrs. Bils enjoyed traveling the country especially to North Ft. Myers, FL and Hawaii.Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, flower gardening, rock gardening, and using oil paints to paint landscapes. She also loved to play cards and eat out. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Sat. Feb. 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Fr. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Upper Sandusky. Visitation is from 1-3PM and 5-7 PM Friday at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with a 6:45 PM scripture service and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Rosary Altar Society service will follow . Memorials may be made to Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church or thecharity of the donor's choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
