Virginia B. Sayre

Virginia B. Sayre age 73 of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Marseilles, died Friday, November 24, 2017 at her residence. She was born April 11, 1944 in Morral to the late Robert W. & Thelma J. (Bell) Haner. She married Tommy E. Sayre on Sept. 15, 1962 and they later divorced. She is survived by a son Grant (Angee) Sayre, LaRue, 3 daughters Shelley (David) Morris, Carey, Vicky (Marvin) Hamm, Upper Sandusky, Ginger (Brian) Bryant, Upper Sandusky, 12 grandchildren Wesley (Sarah Riley) Sayre, Jessica (Katelin) Sayre, Casandra (Kasey) Stayner, Brianna Sayre, Alexis McHenry, Nathaniel McHenry, Joseph (Tara) Thiel, Erica (Coty) Decker, Derek (Rachelle Keller) Shepherd, Chelsea (Carl) Brooker, Jon Hamm, Kyle Bryant, 9 great grandchildren Lucas, Gage, and Dalton Thiel, Sabrina and Adam Bryant, Scarlette Shepherd, Abrielle Goble, and Zoey and Layne Patrick. She was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Haner, and 2 sisters Mary Jane Waggy and Marjorie McKinstry, and a son-in-law Earl J. (Duny) Thiel Jr. Mrs. Sayre was a member of Marseilles United Methodist Church and also attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church. She was a STNA at Fairhaven Community for 22 years, where she was known as “Mama Sayre” and received employee of the month many times. She was the neighborhood babysitter in Marseilles and was a homemaker. Mrs. Sayre was a member of the National Association of Geriatric Professionals. She enjoyed word search puzzles, attending her granchildren's and great grandchildren's activities, sitting on the front porch watching birds, especially cardinals. She was an avid Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Dallas Cowboys fan. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Wed. Nov. 29, 2017 in Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Stauffer and Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery, Marseilles. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8PM Tue. Nov. 28, 2017 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Hospice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
