Charles E. Hehr age 104 of Upper Sandusky died Sat. Dec. 5, 2020 at Fairhaven Health Care Community. He was born Aug. 11, 1916 in Peoria, IL to the late Robert J. & Grace E. (Troup) Hehr. He married M. Jane Myers on Jan. 28, 1939 in Greenup, KY and they celebrated 76 years of marriage. Jane passed on Feb. 10, 2015. Mr. Hehr is survived by a daughter Marcina S. Mason, Upper Sandusky, a son John M. Hehr, The Woodlands, TX, 5 grandchildren David (Rheta) Mason, Michael Mason both of Upper Sandusky, Lori Camper, TX, J. Scott (Erin) Hehr, TX, Jeffrey (Ashley) Hehr, TX, 9 great grandchildren Katherine (Josh) Loverich, Ian (Krystal) Mason both of Upper Sandusky, Christian Mason, IN, Tara Camper, MI, Jessica Camper, CA, Ashton Hehr, Kylie Hehr, Riley Hehr, McKenzie Hehr, all of Texas., 8 great great grandchildren Grady, Sawyer, Landry, Cecilia, Maren, Tanner, Canaan, Reagan, and 2 sisters Rachel Schutt, FL, Carol Matteson, Kenton. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters Dorothy Mouser, Robert Hehr Jr., M. Jane Robey, Rosalie Lee, Richard Hehr, James Hehr, and David Hehr. He attended a one room school which he walked to every day through the 8th grade. The bus service was started the following year that transported him to Upper Sandusky for high school, and he graduated from USHS with the class of 1935. As a young man he worked on the family’s dairy farm, Hehr Dairy, Neumeister Bakery, Schoenberger Produce, Passett Farm, Koehler Paint & Wallpaper, and for over 25 years at Bringman Clark Funeral Home where he enjoyed being part of their family. Mr. Hehr was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a Life Member BPOE #83, and past member of several other clubs. As a couple, he and Jane followed the Ohio State Buckeyes Football team with tailgate parties, trips to Columbus, and numerous bowl games. Graveside services will be held at 10:30AM Sat.
