Christina B. Swinehart

Christina B. Swinehart age 92 of Upper Sandusky, formerly of Nevada passed at Westbrook Assisted Living on July 25, 2021. She was born on Nov. 16, 1928 in Sycamore to the youngest daughter of the Elmer and Grace (Grummel) Everhart. Her three brothers William, Donald and Raymond and two sisters Agnes Mae (Daniel) Walton, Anna Jane (Chuck) Martin all preceded her in death. Chris graduated from Sycamore High School where she was a cheerleader and played the clarinet in the band. On January 18, 1948 she married Darrel E. Swinehart and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2006. Together they had two sons Brian E. (LuAnn) Swinehart of Marion and Rodney E. (Joanne) Swinehart of Keizer, Oregon. Chris cherished her four grandkids Cristi Swinehart of Marion, Ryan (Carrie) Swinehart of Sunbury, Ben (Lindsey) Swinehart of Bend, Oregon and Annie Swinehart of Portland, Oregon. Her six great grandkids Shantel of Marion, Izac of Athens, Ivy and Henry of Bend, Oregon, and Cooper and Madilynn of Sunbury were always deep in her heart. Chris was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and in years past taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Nevada Vol. EMS Squad where she was Squad Leader. Chris served 15 years on the Wyadnot County Board of Health & was recognized by the Nevada EMS for her many years of services as a EMT. She was involved in the Star Theatre and enjoyed her roles in several plays. When living in Nevada, Chris also did a radio show with Charlie Brown of WBCO of Bucyrus on Saturday mornings called “News from Nevada”. She worked in the secretaries office during the Wyandot County Fair and was known for her apple dumplings that she would make for bake sales, election night suppers, church functions and family gatherings. Funeral services will be held on July 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Brad McKibben officiating. Interment will be in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thurs. July 29, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital Hospice Foundation or Wyandot Co.
