Everett O. Obenour

December 29, 1935 - January 17, 2021

Everett “Obie” Oyama Obenour age 85 of McComb, died on Sunday January 17, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on December 29, 1935 in Dola, to Oyama Herbert Irvin and Viola (McCleary) Obenour. He married May Kay and adopted her two sons. Surviving are his children Rob Obenour of Van Buren, Jim (Vicki) Obenour of Queen Creek, AZ, Kristi of North Carolina, Chad (Heidi) Obenour of Wharton, 11 grandchildren Austin, Corey, Kaylee, Jordan, Kayma, Kayler, Garrett, Kevin, Luis, Fernando, Victor and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Leora. Everett “Obie” graduated from Upper Sandusky High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1958-1962. He became a refrigeration specialist at the Plattsburg Air Force Base in New York and received the Guided Missile Insignia at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Everett was a commercial heating/air conditioning specialist and owner/operator of Obenour Company. He was sub hired by Sears, Bepplers Staley Plumbing, Nesbitt and the University of Toledo. Everett was member of Van Buren United Methodist Church for 35 years. He was past Vice President and member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, LaSertoma International, Hancock County Sheriffs Posse and Findlay Bowlers Association. For hobbies he enjoyed horseback riding, barrel racing, boating, motorcycling and restoring his 1950 Dodge pickup. A Military Graveside Service will be conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard on Friday January 22, 2021 at 10am at Salem United Methodist Cemetery in Wyandot County. Pastor Kelly Sterling will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Van Buren United Methodist Church in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
