James E. Hamilton

James E. Hamilton from Arlington, OH , more recently of Moraine, OH, went home to Jesus, his Lord and Savior on Thursday March 27, 2014 at 5:24am at the age of 75. He was born on Aug. 2, 1938 in Kenton, OH to James W. (Bill) and Irene M. (Wright) Hamilton. He was raised in Patterson, OH. Jim married Joyce D. Hines on Nov. 30, 1973. His relationship to his Lord, his family and his service to his country, brought great joy to his life. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife Joyce, his children James Jr.(Catherine) Hamilton, Debra(Rick)Mann, Cris(Ellen) Hamilton, Ted(Leah) Hamilton, Wally(Lisa) Hamilton, Joey(Michele) Hamilton, Eric(Elisabeth) Hamilton, David(Melissa) Hamilton, Kristen(Joshua) Johnson, grandchildren Bridgett(Mark) Bunn, Nathan Hamilton, Nicole(Zach) Johnson, Jessica Hamilton, Kailey Hamilton, Josiah Hamilton, Elias Hamilton, Caleb Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Calista Hamilton, Logan Hamilton, great grandchildren Vivian Brant, Selma Brant, Carter Bunn, Everett Bunn, Camden Johnson, Landon Johnson, sisters Sharon (Phil) Klingler, Norma Ferrell, step mother Emma Hamilton and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Brandon Hamilton, step father Wayne Long and niece Ashleigh Carnes. Mr. Hamilton graduated from Forest High School and later received his Associated in Arts degree. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and the first Persian Gulf War. Mr. Hamilton retired in 1995 from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, with 25 years of active duty service. After retirement, he enjoyed driving a school bus for the Arlington School District and worked with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Specials. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Monday March 31, 2014 at 11:00am in Clark Shields Funeral Home with Pastor Don Clinger officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery with Military Gravesite Rites conducted by Fort Knox. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
