Janis I. Collet

Janis I. Collet, age 78 of Upper Sandusky died Mon Nov. 24, 2014 peacefully at her home. Mrs. Collet was a cancer survivor for 17 years. She was born on Sept. 14, 1936 to the late John I. and Mary Lydia (Rall) Brodman. She married George F. Collet on Oct. 27, 1962 and he survives along with their children, John (Andrea) Collet, Zanesville, Amy (William) Adams, Columbus, 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Zachary, Annika, Lydia, and a sister Mary Catherine Thiel. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers John and Paul Brodman. She graduated from Wharton High School with the class of 1954. Mrs. Collet retired after 28 years as a school bus driver for the Riverdale School System. She also worked at First Citizens National Bank, and Fairhaven Health Care Community. Mrs. Collet volunteered at Wyandot Memorial Hospital for 18 years. Mrs. Collet was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Chapel, Kirby where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a secretary for Wyandot County Birth Defects for over 30 years. Mrs. Collet was a member and past president of CLC, and in 2013 she was named CLC Fraternalist of the year for the state of Ohio. She was a member and past president of Rosary Altar Society, member of Wharton Grow and Learn OCCL for 25 years, Farm Bureau Women's Committee, Farm Bureau Advisory Council Northwest #7, an advisor to Farm Bureau Youth Council, and 4-H advisor for 10 years. Mrs. Collet enjoyed bowling, crocheting, swimming, playing cards, and baking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Sat Nov 29, 2014 in St. Mary's Catholic Chapel, Kirby with Father J.R. Hadnagy OFM Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Kirby. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8PM Fri Nov 28, 2014 with a Catholic Prayer Service at 2:00PM and a CLC Memorial Service at 7:30PM in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
