Marian M. Stephan

Marian M. Stephan of Upper Sandusky, OH died at home with her family present at 9:45AM on March 12, 2011. She was born to Page Cromley Morris and Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) Morris on July 15, 1911, in Nelsonville, OH. She was 99 years of age at the time of her decease. Mrs. Stephan graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1928 and Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University in Athens, OH in 1932. While at Ohio University, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Alpha Iota, Cresset Chapter of Motor Board, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Beta Kappa. On June 12, 1937, Marian married Paul S. Stephan, who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1998. Marian is survived by five children; Donald P. Stephan (Judy, decd) Upper Sandusky, Phyllis A. Quillen (Jack) Michigan, Janet E. Coyne (Richard) California, Andrew M. Stephan (Jill) Michigan, and Laura L. Bacon (David) Upper Sandusky, twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Marian was a charter member and president of Alpha Usando Club; and for fifteen years was the organist at Trinity United Methodist Church, was District Treasurer of United Methodist Women, and taught piano. Marian will long be remembered for her love of reading voraciously, playing cards and spending time with her friends and family. Her children and grandchildren remember her kind and gentle spirit and her friends will remember her generosity to everyone. The family wants to express their gratitude and love to Deb Wolf and her family for the many sacrifices and kindness they have given to Marian during her final years. Visitation will be at BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351 on Wednesday March 16 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services with Rev. Jim Stauffer, Rev. Ken Wessler, Rev. John Hoover and Rev. Rick Coyne will be at BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home on Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
