Mark D. Emerine

Mark D. Emerine 62, of Upper Sandusky died of natural causes at his Eden Twp. Residence at 9:30 AM, Friday, January 10, 2014. He was born Nov 12, 1951 in Upper Sandusky, to the late Wilfred and Katherine (Beidelschies) Emerine. He married Kathleen M. Margraf Reed on Sept. 18, 1998 and she survives. Also surviving are 3 brothers Michael (Sharon) Emerine, Cold Spring, KY; Steven (Sue) Emerine, Maumee, OH; and David (Cynthia) Emerine, Upper Sandusky, OH 7 Emerine nieces and nephews, Matt, Chris, Dan, Michelle, Jessie, Bethani, and Andrea, mother-in-law, Mrs. Doris Margraf, Upper Sandusky, OH, brother-in-law, David Margraf, Wellington, OH, brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Joanne Westerman, Upper Sandusky, 3 Westerman nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins. Mr. Emerine attended St. Peter's Catholic School in Upper Sandusky, then graduated from Upper Sandusky High School with the Class of 1970, where he starred on the Rams football squad. He attended Bowling Green State University, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Mr. Emerine was passionate about wildlife and the outdoors, which he channeled in an early position with the Wyandot County Division of Soil and Water Conservation. He subsequently held multiple jobs in Upper Sandusky and surrounding communities, most recently with the Dlublak Glass Recycling Plant in Upper Sandusky. He kept his love of the outdoors strong throughout his life. His favorite leisure activities included canoeing the Sandusky River and local reservoirs, hunting, fishing, gardening, bicycle riding with his dogs around the community and on Wyandot County Bike Tours. He explored county roads on his motorcycle. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Brown football fan. Mr. Emerine generously helped others with yard and garden work, home repair and maintenance, and caring for pets. He was an avid reader. Visitation will be held at Bringman Clark Funeral Home on Thurs Jan 16, 2013, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, with a funeral service at 6:00 PM with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, O.F.M. Officiating. Following the service visitation will continue from 7:00 – 8:00 PM. A private interment service will be held at Smithville Cemetery.
