Ross E. "Bud" Orians

Ross E. “Bud” Orians age 88 of Upper Sandusky, OH died at his residence at 8:00PM Monday Sept. 20, 2010. He was born to the late Ambrose S. and Alta M. (Ross) Orians on August 6, 1922 in Salem Twp. Wyandot Co., OH. He married Geraldine M. (Peg) Binau on Feb. 8, 1947 and she survives in Upper Sandusky. Ross is survived by three sons Van (Vicki) Orians, Cliff (Jean) Orians, Lex (Nicole) Orians, three daughters Mrs. David (Yvonne) Baldwin, Mrs. Ed (Rita) Schoenberger, Mrs. Pat (Vivian) Oney and 21 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Tom (Jo) McCarthy, St. Mary's, OH. He was preceded in death by two brothers Woodrow and Arlis and three sisters Justine Puhl, Sister Mary Ann Orians, Reva Garber. He grew up and raised his family attending St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salem Twp. and now attends Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky, OH. Ross retired as a Salem Twp Grain & Livestock Farmer and retired from the Auto Life Spark Plug, Fostoria, OH in 1984. He had also worked at the former Karg Supply, Upper Sandusky, OH. He graduated from the former Salem High School in 1940, where he participated in basketball and softball. Ross was a WWII Navy Veteran on the SS Coral Sea, serving in the Pacific as a gunner. He was a member of the American Legion Post #225, Upper Sandusky, OH. Ross was a sports enthusiast; he played for the Balrich Tire Softball Team for a number of years, and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sporting events. Ross also enjoyed going to State Basketball tournaments, and late in life watching sporting events on TV. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday Sept. 24, 2010 at 10:30AM at the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery rural Upper Sandusky, OH Salem Twp. with full Military Graveside Honors being conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.
